Reflections on a year in our Preston law firm

As 2022 comes to a close we take a minute to reflect on the past year in this Preston law firm.

And what a year it has been.  As the world started to come to terms with it’s “new normal” after the pandemic, it was rocked again by the outbreak of the war in Ukraine.  Then with the loss of our monarch, and record high temperatures in the summer, our own country again faced it’s challenges.  Most people began to feel the pinch from our cost of living crisis and times continue to be challenging for many.

The year for our local area:

In our own local area we’ve seen new businesses arrive, then have to close just as quickly as the cost of operating in the current climate is too difficult for many.  As an established Preston law firm we have been blessed to continue to operate as normal throughout.

Our shop frontage also had an update too.  And in a big development for us last year we completed the redundant office spaces in the rest of our Bamber Bridge branch to be able to welcome new businesses to our fold.  Our newest neighbours operating out of our leased office space are LookSharpe Photography, and we love seeing the kids and pets coming to visit them for their photoshoots in their fabulous studio upstairs.

Our own business has seen some development too.  We have been able to provide a free will writing service as partners of Cancer Research UK for some time now.  But this year we have also partnered with the incredible Alzheimers Society to extend this offering even further. And in a fairly novel move for a Preston law firm we have also extended the zoom appointments we introduced during the pandemic, and can now also offer home visits for people who wish to arrange a will but are unable to get into our Bamber Bridge branch.

Whats the plan for 2023?

We continue to support our local Polish speaking community by offering language and translation support during the legal process, and have seen a sad but significant demand in people locally needing help with housing disrepair issues remedied.  Our community is important to us so we’ll be continuing to fight for the people of our area who aren’t getting the support from their landlords that they should when it comes to keeping their homes in good and safe condition.

We’re looking forward to 2023 and will continue to offer our free law clinic service which so many people have been able to benefit from.  Keep an eye out on our socials – Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Linkedin for more details of those as and when they happen.

We’ll look forward to seeing you in the year ahead, and thanks to you all for your support in 2022.
