Meet the team – Lesley Delaney

Here at Marley Solicitors Bamber Bridge we operate with a small, but perfectly formed team.  Also, we’re an all-female team of Lawyers in Preston which we hope will make us more accessible to people who feel more comfortable in that environment.

We are all about making people feel welcome, and with our friendly team we hope we are able to do that.  We are always being left reviews from happy clients who tell us just that, which really makes our day.  So if it helps you at all to get to know us a little better before calling in to see your local lawyers in Preston, then we’re more than happy to help you do that.  So here’s the next in our “Meet the Team posts” and an introduction to our Owner and Solicitor, Lesley Delaney.

How it all began:

Lesley initially worked for Cable North West (now Virgin Media). This was within the Construction and Engineering Legal department.  Here she worked for nine years before redundancy.  This enforced change took her to Blackburn firm C Turner Solicitors in 2002.  There, she was mentored by one of the partners whose encouragement helped her recognise that her future lay in law.  She went on to study at UCLAN whilst continuing to work.  Ultimately qualifying as a solicitor with a training contract for the same firm in 2008.

Specialism and areas of law

At that time, the company Lesley worked for specialised in personal injury work,  Finding this really rewarding, this was to become one of her specialisms.  With a small child by this time and another on the way, Lesley took the brave decision to set up her own legal firm.  With her daughter’s name already being used as a business name within the family, when son Marley came along in 2013 it seemed right to name the business after him.  So that’s how Marley Solicitors was born.  This new firm of lawyers in Preston was licensed to practise law from October 2013.

And outside of work…

As a busy working mum in those earlier days, the business was run from home for the first 12 months whilst Marley was a baby.  Then, she moved to rented offices in Preston from 2014 to 2018.  But it was when operating as lawyers in Preston that Lesley realised she wanted to be closer to home in Bamber Bridge.  This was important to her to enable the company to be more a part of the local community.  And that’s what brings us to where we are today.  If you need to get in touch with Lesley at any time, please feel free to do so.
